The person in charge said, “We need to use some methods now.”
After leaving the cafeteria, Tong Sui said, “Team Hua, I’m not going back to the dormitory yet. I want to explore the playground area a bit.”
Jiang Hua responded, “Okay, I’ll accompany you.”
Tong Sui was a little surprised. He had only intended to inform him, not expecting Jiang Hua to be willing to go together without hesitation.
It seemed that their relationship had made significant progress.
Tong Sui felt a rush of happiness in his heart. Maybe by the time they returned to the base, Jiang Hua might develop a bit more fondness for him.
So, the two of them headed towards the playground.
The playground had been transformed into a farm. Ordinary people without powers were bent over, using the most primitive tools to plow the soil, sow seeds, and fertilize.
Upon seeing them approach, these people dared only to glance up briefly, too afraid to stop their work.
They all looked weary and drained.
With a workload exceeding the limits of what an ordinary person could bear, they toiled for over ten hours a day.
A supervisor sitting with his legs propped up yelled angrily, “Why are you all so slow? Are you slacking off? Don’t you want to eat today?!”
He activated his earth-based powers and threw a stone the size of a plate at the head of a woman in her fifties nearby.
Just as everyone braced themselves for the bloody scene, a bolt of thunder struck down!
“Boom!”
The stone shattered into countless pieces, floating gently to the ground.
The woman who had narrowly escaped fell to the ground, visibly shaken.
Thunder continued to crack around the earth-type powers user, the closest bolt making his hair stand on end.
He was so scared that he jumped to his feet.
Upon seeing Jiang Hua, he trembled all over, the oppressive aura making him unable to speak.
“Are you alright?”
Tong Sui rushed over to help the woman who had fallen.
He turned to the earth powers user, “Is there nothing you can say nicely? Do you realize what could happen if a stone that size hit someone?”
The earth powers user dared not respond.
Jiang Hua strode over, grabbing him by the collar and pushing him into the uncultivated land.
The earth powers user fell into the mud, looking extremely disheveled.
Jiang Hua looked at him coldly.
Feeling the chill in Jiang Hua’s demeanor, the earth powers user panicked and quickly knelt down, saying, “It’s not my fault! I’m just a supervisor; it’s them who aren’t doing their work properly.”
Jiang Hua replied coldly, “You are more suited to work in the fields than they are.”
The earth powers user’s expression changed.
Under Jiang Hua’s watch, he worked the land like an exhausted old bull, causing the soil to turn with a ruckus.
Even so, the ordinary people in the fields dared only to cheer him on in their hearts while continuing their work without stopping.
A small figure ran over, “Brother.”
Nana, holding a small shovel, had gotten quite dirty again. “What are you doing here? Powers users don’t have to work.”
“I’m here looking for something. What about you?”
Nana pointed to an elderly woman behind her, “I’m helping Grandma with her work.”
Following her finger, a kind-looking elderly woman smiled at him, her fatigue visible but her hair still neatly groomed.
Tong Sui took Nana’s hand and walked over.
“You must be the handsome brother Nana mentioned,” the elderly woman said. “It’s a pity that the valuable jewelry we had was all taken away from us. I don’t even know how to thank you.”
The surrounding people all turned their heads upon hearing this.
They had lived as neighbors in the nearby villa area for decades.
When the apocalypse struck, they had to come to this safe base to survive.
The meager rations provided were hardly enough to eat; although they wanted to help, their strength was limited.
Until yesterday, Nana brought back a bag of food and crystals.
Everyone received a portion.
Their eyes turned to Tong Sui with increasing gratitude.
Nana said, “Brother said he came to find something.”
Everyone responded eagerly:
“What are you looking for? We can help you find it.”
“Yes, yes, we can certainly help with finding things.”
Tong Sui replied, “Actually, I’m looking for some different varieties of seedlings and seeds, trying to cultivate them myself.”
“That’s no problem!”
Without hesitation, everyone jumped into action, and before long, they had collected many different kinds of seeds and seedlings.
Tong Sui meticulously noted down each variety they mentioned, including common ones like potatoes, tomatoes, and sweet potatoes, along with some fruit seedlings.
If he could successfully plant these in his space ring, he wouldn’t have to worry about food in the future.
After thanking them, Tong Sui held a heavy bag filled with loot.
“Hua Team, I’m all set.”
Jiang Hua turned and naturally took the items from him, not minding the dirt on it at all.
“Okay, let’s go.”
Behind them, the earth powers user lay on the ground, panting heavily. The excessive consumption of his powers had severely strained his body.
Jiang Hua looked down at him coldly, “Remember your pain at this moment. If you dare to bully others like you did just now, I will make you suffer ten times worse.”
The earth powers user shook his head repeatedly, “I won’t do it again, I promise.”
The sky darkened as if weighed down by a heavy stone, the clouds hovering low on the horizon, and the wind rustled through the leaves, as if a heavy rain could fall at any moment.
Tong Sui and the others couldn’t help but quicken their pace.
As they were nearing the dormitory, rain suddenly poured down, rapidly drenching the ground and splashing up in droplets.
Tong Sui patted off some water from his clothes and reached out to gather his belongings.
